Who we are

The contact form

What you fill in — your name, company, email address, phone number and message — is used only to answer your question or quotation request. We do so because you approached us and it is needed to help you. Your message arrives on our own server and goes from there to our mailbox. We do not use this data for advertising and do not pass it on to others to approach you.

Keeping spam out

The form contains two fields that are invisible to you, and it measures how long filling it in took. Bots fill in such fields and finish too quickly; people do not. Neither signal says anything about you as a person.

The form is also protected by Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise. Technical data about your visit is sent to Google to assess whether you are human, and Google sets a cookie of its own for this. The script only loads once the form comes into view, so nothing happens on the rest of the site. Google's privacy policy and terms of service apply to this processing.

Website statistics

We like to know which pages are being read. For that we use Umami, which runs on a server of our own rather than at an advertising company. Umami sets no cookies, does not follow you across other websites and stores nothing that identifies you. We see visitor numbers and which pages are popular, nothing more.

Cookies

This site sets one cookie of its own: PARAGLIDE_LOCALE, which remembers whether you read the Dutch or the English version. It is needed to keep the site working the way you set it and says nothing else about you. We set no other cookies, which is why you see no consent banner.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours records which pages are requested, when, and from which IP address. We need that to spot failures and abuse. The server is located in the Netherlands.

How long we keep it

We keep a request for as long as we are working on it, and after that up to two years from our last contact, so we can find an earlier question if you come back to us. Server logs are kept for a few weeks. If you would like us to delete your data sooner, let us know.

Who else processes your data

A few parties are involved and may see data in the process: Karibu Online builds and maintains this website and its servers, TransIP provides the server it runs on, and Microsoft handles our email. Google also assesses through reCAPTCHA whether a form submission comes from a human. We pass on nothing else, unless the law obliges us to.

Your rights

You may ask us what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its use, or request it in a usable file. An email to info@macknights.nl is enough; we respond within a month. If we cannot resolve it together, you may lodge a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes

If the site changes, or the way we handle data changes, we update this statement. The date at the top shows when that last happened.
